We’re thrilled with the coverage provided by Stuff, this summer, in raising awareness around huge water safety issues. But it’s with mixed emotions.

While it’s great to get the media exposure, there’s so much more that can be done to raise awareness, particularly in addressing the relationships many New Zealanders have with water. We’re surrounded by water and too many people have a ‘she’ll be right’ attitude. That’s leading to more preventable drownings than is acceptable.
