National Infrastructure Agencies and Programmes

A small group of agencies provide core infrastructure and programmes of the New Zealand water safety sector.

Surf Life Saving New Zealand
Coastguard New Zealand and Coastguard Boating Education (CBE)
Swimming New Zealand
Royal New Zealand Plunket Trust

The purpose of the National Infrastructure designation is to move the Water Safety New Zealand investment relationship with National Infrastructure Agencies to an investment approach, that allows greater certainty of planning and greater specificity of programme delivery, and a developmental approach that fosters agency capability and growth.
