Education
A key element in Water Safety New Zealand’s vision statement is to have more New Zealanders respect the water and have the skills, knowledge and awareness to enjoy it safely. Education is a key component in that vision.
We seek to lead the development of water safety education with like-minded partners and identify education initiatives with the greatest impact on drowning prevention. Innovation and the identification of opportunities to expand the reach of water safety education, is our goal.
Measures for success
- More people have water safety competence, understand the risks and make wise decisions
- People have the skills to survive in, on and around the water
- A life-long and inter-generational culture of water safety is evident
